Getting & Staying Here

WHERE TO STAY

Most wedding festivities, except the actual wedding, are taking place in Edgartown. There will be transportation provided to the wedding, so we recommend you stay in Edgartown. Within Edgartown there are a number of different options for your visit.

RENTALS

Airbnb, VRBO and Martha’s Vineyard Rentals can be the most cost effective way for your stay on the island with numerous options for however many people you are choosing to stay with. We highly recommend searching for “Edgartown” or “Katama” when looking for rental homes on the island.

Be aware that Airbnb and VRBO may show homes that are not actually on Martha’s Vineyard when you search - you want to make sure you are staying on the island.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions - we are happy to help!

HOTELS

The best part about Martha’s Vineyard is that there are no big chains, which means there are no big chain hotels for you stay on the island either. Edgartown has a bunch of small, unique hotels and b&b’s with various price points that are all great places to stay for the wedding weekend. See below for hotels that we have room blocks in or recommend for the weekend!

Please note, some of the hotels do not release their rates and rooms until later in the fall/winter, so you will not be able to book until then. Let us know if you have any questions!

HOW TO GET HERE

We’re so excited to have all of you join us in our favorite place! We know it may seem that Martha’s Vineyard is hard to get to, but we promise, it’s easier than it seems! And it is what makes the island so special.

There are a number of ways to get to the island and we hope this information helps.

You can always reach out to us with questions or concerns to figure out the best transportation options for you!

Please note, once you are on the island, you will not need a car, transportation will be provided to and from the events Friday and Saturday. Please refer to the schedule in your welcome bag!

FERRY

Tickets for cars will be available starting on Tuesday January 25th at 5:00am EST.

The most common way to get to the island is via ferry from Woods Hole (Steamship Authority). The ferry takes you from Woods Hole to either Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven in about 45 minutes. Both are around a 15-20 minute drive from Edgartown, so pick whichever ferry time works best for your schedule!

There are two options for this ferry: you can either drive your car on (requires an advanced reservation) or you walk on as a passenger (which requires NO advanced reservations). There is parking available to leave your car on the mainland if you go as a passenger. You will likely park at a satellite lot and be shuttled to the ferry terminal. We take our car so this is our favorite way to go and the ride over is always beautiful!

You do not need to pre purchase passenger ferry tickets, you will purchase them at the ticket counter or on your phone in Woods Hole ($19 round trip). You DO need to purchase vehicle tickets months in advance - they sell out fast (about $200 round trip). If you are planning on taking a car over, please do not wait to purchase your ticket. We make our reservations in January for the entire summer.

Below are additional ferry options from other locations:

Rhode Island Fast Ferry leaves from Providence, RI, right of 95 and is for passengers only. This ferry brings you into Oak Bluffs. This cuts off about an hour of your drive to Falmouth/Woods Hole. This ferry is $92 round trip and you can park your car dockside for $10 a day.

Seastreak leaves from New Bedford, MA. This ferry is for passengers only, and buying tickets ahead of time is recommended. You will arrive into Oak Bluffs, which is 15 minutes from Edgartown. It is $70 roundtrip.

Pied Piper leaves from Falmouth, MA. This ferry is for passengers only, and arrives right into Edgartown! This ferry is $72 round trip, and parking is $30 a day in Falmouth. The Pied Piper does valet parking, and will have your car waiting for you when you get back to Falmouth.
