Island Favorites

Beaches

  • South Beach

Located a bike ride or short drive from Edgartown, South Beach is our favorite beach (and where we got engaged!) It’s one of the most gorgeous beaches in the world, we think, and it makes for the most perfect beach days, sunrises and sunsets.

  • State Beach

Also located a bike ride or quick drive from Edgartown, State Beach, located in Oaks Bluff is known for both it’s infamous Jaws Scene, as well as the jumping bridge.

  • Menemsha

Located up-island, Menemsha is fishing village, uniquely a throwback with a beach known for it’s amazing sunsets. Not surprisingly, they have two of the best fish markets on the island, as well as The Galley, a fish shack with classic New England staples.

Farms and Markets

  • Morning Glory Farm

Our favorite farm located in Edgartown. They have gorgeous flowers, as well as all the delicious farm fresh food!

  • The Grey Barn & Farm

Home of Danny’s favorite cheese, Prufrock, Grey Barn is not only an amazing bakery and cheese shop, but also could be the most beautiful farm we’ve ever seen.

  • West Tisbury Farmer's Market

Open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the West Tisbury Farmer’s Market is a must do. They have all the best food, desserts and snacks from all around the island!

  • Beetlebung Farm

A classic Martha’s Vineyard farm stand – it’s tiny, full of fresh vegetables and based off the honor system.

  • Black Sheep

A cute shop across from the airport, Black Sheep has delicious food as well as cute home décor items.

Breakfast

  • Espresso Love

Perfect for a coffee or a breakfast sandwich, Espresso Love is a staple in Edgartown.

  • Art Cliff Diner

Located in Vineyard Haven, the Art Cliff diner is a favorite on the island. They have delicious breakfast options, but not much space inside, so expect a wait that is well worth it!

  • Katama General Store

Located right down the street from Emma’s house, the Katama General store is perfect for delicious breakfast sandwiches, but also have pizza, sandwiches and Danny’s favorite beer selection on the island.

  • Katama Kitchen

Formerly the Right Fork Diner (RIP), Katama Kitchen is brand new to the island. It has great views, watching the byplanes take off and land as you enjoy an omelet or blueberry pancakes.

Restaurants

  • 19 Raw

Both an oyster bar and a steak restaurant, 19 Raw, located in Edgartown, has all the food you could want. And the most delicious sriracha fries you will ever have!

  • The Port Hunter

Delicious food, drinks and live music right in the heart of Edgartown. Also home to Danny’s favorite fried chicken sandwich. Our go to, always.

  • Lookout Tavern

Bar none, the best lobster roll we have ever had. They have spectacular sushi and tacos as well. Located in Oak Bluffs.

  • Red Cat

One of our favorites in Oak Bluffs – from the most delicious Brussels Sprouts and fun seafood takes to the ambiance (they play Jaws on repeat, every night), we would go most nights if we could!

  • Cardboard Box

Across the street from Red Cat, another delicious restaurant on Oak Bluffs.

  • The Net Result

Quintessential New England food and fish market in Vineyard Haven. Delicious fried food, as well as lobster rolls and clam chowder!

  • Nancy's

The fried food of anyone’s dreams – they have it all and it’s located right on the water in Oak Bluffs.

  • The Sweet Life

One of Jane’s favorites, in Oak Bluffs, very charing with delicious entrees and a lovely outdoor area for dinner

  • Seafood Shanty

With a gorgeous patio overlooking the Edgartown Harbor, Seafood Shanty is great for everyone of all ages, especially those with children.

  • Beach Road

Looking out on Lagoon Pond and the Vineyard Sound, an amazing setting, and the food is even better!

Sweets

  • Scoop Shack

At the bottom of Edgartown, this is our favorite ice cream, ever. They also have bins and shelves full of delicious candy.

  • Backdoor Donuts

Our absolute favorite dessert on the island. Only open at night, in Oak Bluffs, there is always a line around the corner or snaked through the parking lot. Be prepared to have the most delicious apple fritter you have ever had, truly.

  • Enchanted Chocolates

A discovery by Emma’s parents at the West Tisbury Farmer’s Market, Enchanted Chocolates, located in a shop out of someone’s house has delicious chocolate covered everything. Our go-to’s are pretzels (aka Stoner Food), espresso beans, caramel discs and oreos.

  • Murdick's Fudge

Of course, they have fudge, but Murdick’s, located in Edgartown, has caramel corn that we dream about all year long.

  • Ben & Bill's

Located in Oak Bluffs, Ben & Bills has both ice cream and delicious chocolate.
